Warranty Policy
Momentum Warranty — Terms & Cover
This is the policy you’ll reach for when something has gone wrong — so it’s written to be read plainly, not deciphered. It explains exactly how your Momentum warranty works: when your cover begins, what it protects, what falls outside it, and the steps to make a claim if you ever need to.
Momentum stands behind every product it sells. Each one carries a unique serial number, an individual warranty record, and a clear path to having a genuine fault put right. This page sets out that protection in full and the conditions under which it applies. Where a term carries a precise meaning, we’ve explained it in plain language alongside, so you’re never left guessing what a clause means for you.
1. Warranty Activation
Your warranty begins on its own. The moment your order is fulfilled and a unique serial number is assigned to your product, your cover is active. There is no card to register, no form to return, and no online sign-up to remember.
This is deliberate. Most warranties in the market quietly lapse because the owner never got around to registering the product. Momentum removes that risk entirely: because activation is tied to the sale itself, your cover exists whether or not you ever think about it again.
From that point on, your serial number is your warranty. It is the official record of your cover, and it is what we use to confirm ownership, check your warranty status, see your coverage period, and assess any claim. Every right under this policy is attached to that serial number — which is why keeping a note of it matters.
2. Warranty Certificate
Every covered Momentum product is issued a warranty certificate — a single document that gathers everything defining your cover in one place:
- The product serial number
- The warranty activation date
- The warranty expiration date
- The applicable warranty period
- Product identification details
The certificate is your formal proof of warranty. If you ever make a claim, it’s the fastest way for both you and our team to confirm exactly what’s covered and until when. Keep it somewhere safe, together with your order confirmation.
That said — if you lose it, you have not lost your cover. Your warranty lives in Momentum’s records against your serial number, not on the paper itself. You can always confirm your status at the verification page, or recover your details through your Momentum account or our support team. The certificate exists for your convenience and as proof; it is not the thing that keeps you covered.
3. Warranty Period
Unless stated otherwise for a specific product, your Momentum warranty runs for six (6) months from the date of activation.
Each product is covered on its own. This matters if you buy more than one item: every product receives its own serial number, its own warranty record, its own activation date, and its own period. These are never combined, pooled, or averaged together.
For example, if you buy two products a month apart, each one’s six months is counted from its own activation date. The second product doesn’t inherit time already used on the first, and neither one shortens or extends the other.
Some products may carry a period longer or shorter than the standard six months. Where that applies, the exact period governing your product is shown on its warranty certificate and on its verification record — so the figure you see there is always the one that counts.
4. Verify Your Warranty
You can check the status of any Momentum product at any time, without contacting us, through the verification system at momentumelectronics.store/verify. Enter the product’s serial number and you’ll see:
- Warranty status — active or expired
- Activation date
- Expiration date
- The applicable warranty period
- Product information
This is the same record our team works from, so what you see is the authoritative position on your cover — not an estimate. Your serial number appears on your warranty certificate and on your order confirmation. If you can’t find it, contact Momentum support and we’ll retrieve it against your order.
5. What Is Covered
Your warranty covers manufacturer defects and manufacturer-related hardware faults that occur under normal use. In plain terms: if your product fails because of how it was made — not because of how it was handled — that is what this warranty is for.
“Normal use” means using the product for its intended purpose and in line with any instructions supplied with it. Cover applies to two distinct kinds of manufacturer fault, and each has its own reporting window.
5.1 Delivery Defects
A delivery defect is a manufacturing fault that was already present when the product reached you — a product that arrives not working as it should, straight out of the box. Examples include:
- A product that won’t power on
- A hardware component that doesn’t function
- Any manufacturing fault evident on first use
Because these faults are apparent as soon as you start using the product, they must be reported within fourteen (14) days of delivery. After fourteen days, a fault can no longer be treated as a delivery defect — though a genuine manufacturing fault that develops later may still be covered under the next category.
If your product arrives faulty, the best thing you can do is tell us straight away rather than wait. The sooner you report it, the faster we can put it right.
5.2 Functional Manufacturer Faults
A functional manufacturer fault is a hardware failure that appears later, during normal use, and is caused by a defect in how the product was manufactured rather than by anything that happened to it.
Where we verify that a fault is genuinely of this kind, it is covered for the full warranty period assigned to your product — not only the first fourteen days. This is the cover that protects you through the life of the warranty.
6. What Is Not Covered
To keep this policy honest and clear, here is exactly what falls outside it. The common thread is simple: this warranty covers faults in manufacture, not damage that happens after the product is in use.
- Physical damage — damage from impact, pressure, or force rather than a fault in manufacture:
- Cracked screens
- Broken housings
- Bent frames
- Impact damage
- Pressure damage
- General mechanical damage
- Liquid or moisture damage — any damage from contact with liquid or moisture:
- Water exposure
- Liquid spills
- Humidity-related damage
- Corrosion caused by moisture
- Misuse or neglect — damage from using the product incorrectly or against its instructions:
- Improper operation
- Failure to follow supplied instructions
- Use outside intended conditions
- Abuse or neglect
- Unauthorised repair or modification — damage resulting from the product being opened, altered, or worked on by anyone other than Momentum or an authorised party:
- Opening the product
- Modifying the product
- Repair by unauthorised persons
- Alteration of hardware or software systems
- Consumable components — parts naturally subject to wear through normal use, including batteries and other consumables where applicable.
- Late-reported delivery defects — delivery defects reported after the fourteen-day window are no longer covered as delivery defects.
- Expired cover — any fault reported after the warranty period has ended.
If you’re not certain which side of this line your situation falls on, don’t assume — ask us first (see section 13). It costs nothing to check, and it can prevent an avoidable mistake.
7. Serial Number Integrity
Your warranty is tied to your serial number, and our ability to honour a claim depends on being able to match that serial to our records. In almost every case this is straightforward: the record is held on our system, so even a worn or hard-to-read label can usually be confirmed against your order and product details.
Cover may be affected only where a serial number has been deliberately removed, altered, defaced, or tampered with, or where it genuinely cannot be verified against our records by any reasonable means. We are describing intentional interference here — not ordinary wear. Momentum reserves the right to decline a claim where serial verification is truly not possible, but we will always try to verify against our own records first before reaching that point.
8. Making a Warranty Claim
Claims are made against a specific product, identified by its serial number. If you own more than one Momentum product, each is claimed separately against its own warranty record — there is no single combined claim across products.
You can submit a claim in either of two ways:
- At momentumelectronics.store/verify, against the product’s serial number; or
- From your Momentum account dashboard, where your registered products are listed and you can open a claim against the relevant one directly.
When you file, please have ready:
- The product’s serial number
- A clear description of the fault — what is happening, and how
- The date you first noticed it
- Any further information we request during assessment
To assess a claim fairly, we may also ask for photographs, a short video, or to inspect the product. This isn’t about making the process harder — it’s how we confirm the nature of the fault so the right remedy can be applied quickly.
9. Assessment and Remedies
Every claim is reviewed against two things: the product’s warranty record, and the fault you’ve reported. Where a valid warranty claim is approved, Momentum may:
- Repair the product
- Replace the product
- Provide an equivalent replacement
Momentum reserves the right to determine the most appropriate remedy based on the nature of the fault, product availability, and practical repair considerations.
Worth being clear about, so there are no surprises: approval of a claim does not automatically mean a brand-new unit. Repair is often the right and fastest outcome, and an equivalent replacement — which may be a refurbished unit of comparable performance — is a valid resolution. Your warranty protects your product and your experience of it; our aim is to get you a working product back.
We aim to respond to every warranty claim within seven (7) days of submission.
10. Shipping and Assessment Costs
Where a product needs to come to us for assessment, the general position is that you are responsible for the cost of sending it in. There is one important exception, in your favour:
For confirmed delivery defects — a product that arrived faulty and is reported within the fourteen-day window — Momentum covers the cost of returning it to us. You should not be out of pocket for a product that was faulty before you ever used it.
For all other approved claims, Momentum may, at its discretion, reimburse reasonable shipping costs or arrange and cover return shipping. We reserve the right to determine the most appropriate shipping method for warranty fulfilment in each case.
11. Limitation of Warranty
This warranty covers the repair or replacement of defects as set out in these terms — and that is the extent of what it covers. It does not extend to other losses that might follow from a fault, including:
- Indirect losses
- Consequential losses
- Loss of profits
- Loss of data
- Loss of business opportunities
- Any damages beyond the value of the covered product
In plain terms: if a product develops a covered fault, we will put the product right — but the warranty is limited to the product itself, not to anything else affected while it’s out of action. We strongly encourage keeping your own backups of any important data, as data cannot be recovered or compensated under this warranty.
Finally, and importantly: nothing in this policy removes or limits any rights you have that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law. Where the law gives you a protection we haven’t named here, that protection still stands.
12. Changes to This Policy
Momentum may update this Warranty Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect changes in our products or processes. The current version is always the one published here on the Momentum website, and it applies from the date it is published. The “Last Updated” date at the foot of this page tells you which version you are reading.
13. Questions and Support
If you’re ever unsure whether a fault is covered, please reach out before attempting any repair, modification, or replacement yourself. We would genuinely rather answer the question first than see a valid warranty unintentionally affected by a well-meant fix.
For warranty support, help finding your serial number, or any claim enquiry, contact Momentum at support@momentumelectronics.store or through the support channels listed on our website. If something has gone wrong with your product, that is exactly what we are here for.
